In the heart of Denver at 2165 Curtis Street, the Denver Dream Center serves over 50,000 people annually with a simple yet powerful mission: to bring hope to the hopeless.
Founded in 2014 by Pastor Bryan Sederwall (known as "Pastor B"), the Denver Dream Center connects broken people to a community of support by providing free resources and services that address immediate and long-term needs in the areas of homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, abuse, education, and assisting those transitioning from various levels of incarceration.
Our Founding Story
When Pastor B moved to Denver in 2006, he saw hope where others saw defeat and desperation. Over the next decade, he worked with gang members, ex-offenders, and inmates. Realizing that real change also starts with youth and families, he established the Denver Dream Center in 2014 to bring wraparound services, pro-social events, and crisis intervention services to share love and effective support with those who need it most.
By 2020, the Denver Dream Center was steadily growing when the pandemic hit. In crisis, we saw an opportunity to serve at a higher level. During the COVID crisis, we distributed nearly 4 million pounds of food to over 300,000 people and grew to a staff of 16, including former clients who embrace and fulfill our mission daily.
Our Three-Part Mission
Rescue People
We meet people exactly where they are with immediate crisis intervention and essential services.
Street Team: Our Street Team provides holistic support for the immediate, long-term, and spiritual needs of those struggling with homelessness in Denver. We go to the streets weekly, offering meals, clothing, hygiene items, and most importantly, compassionate human connection.
Adopt-a-Block: This outreach demonstrates God's unconditional love to the Denver community through practical acts of service. We bring resources directly into neighborhoods, building relationships while meeting immediate needs.
Dream Closet & Pantry: Open Monday through Friday, 9am to 12:45pm, we provide free food, clothing, and household items to care for families and individuals in need. No appointments necessary, no questions asked.
Rebuild Lives
We provide comprehensive support that addresses the whole person, not just immediate needs.
THRIVE Program: Our reentry ministry is designed to encourage and assist men and women as they integrate back into life after prison. We come alongside individuals to:
- Create positive support systems
- Reestablish family relationships
- Assist with job placement
- Connect with needed healthcare
- Offer Bible studies and faith-based etiquette classes
- Provide character development classes
- Open volunteer opportunities
THRIVE is designed to help clients succeed in many places they might have failed in the past while also teaching them about the love of God.
Families in Transition (FIT): We come alongside families to become a consistent support on the journey to stability. FIT provides wraparound case management, parenting resources, childcare connections, and community support specifically for single mothers and families.
Youth Programs: Defeating gang involvement and substance abuse issues is often as simple as providing alternative activities. Our youth programs offer safe, pro-social activities, mentorship, and hope for a different future.
Positive Pathways: This program empowers youth and their families by preventing violence and fostering positive solutions to life's challenges through innovative experiences that tap into the unique potential of today's youth.

Restore Dreams
We help people discover their purpose and build sustainable, fulfilling lives.
Many of our staff members are former clients who now embrace and fulfill our mission daily. They are living proof that transformation is real and lasting. We measure success not just by sobriety or housing, but by watching people reunite with families, obtain meaningful employment, and discover their God-given purposes.
What Guides Us: Our Core Values
The Denver Dream Center operates by twelve core values that guide our every step:
- Everything is an experiment
- Pick a fight
- Pray like it depends on God and work like it depends on you
- Playing it safe is too risky
- You can never out-give God
- Expect the unexpected
- Love people when they least expect it and least deserve it
- Go the extra mile
- It's never too late to be who you might have been
- A church that stays in its four walls isn't a church at all
- Be known by what we are for and not what we are against
- Be willing to live life interrupted
These values speak to the immediacy and flexibility required to pursue God's Kingdom in the inner city.
Why We're Different
We See People, Not Problems: When someone walks through our doors, we see their potential, not just their past.
We Provide Wraparound Support: We understand that homelessness isn't just about housing, addiction isn't just about substances, and incarceration isn't just about crime. Everything is interconnected, so we address the whole person.
We Build Community: Our goal isn't to create dependency but to help people become self-sufficient, contributing members of the community while remaining connected to supportive relationships.
We Take Action: We don't wait for people to come to us. Our Street Team goes to the streets. Our Adopt-a-Block program goes into neighborhoods. We believe a church that stays in its four walls isn't a church at all.
