About Families in Transition

A family in crisis doesn't need a quick fix. They need someone who will stick around. FIT comes alongside families who are fighting to get back on their feet—and stays with them through the whole journey. Not just until the immediate crisis passes, but until they've built a foundation strong enough to last.

That means helping with the practical stuff: budgeting, job searches, navigating benefits, finding stable housing. But it also means the harder stuff: rebuilding confidence, processing trauma, learning to trust again. We focus on building a solid foundation so families are set up for lifelong success—not just survival until the next emergency.

  1. Long-term, consistent support for families working toward stability
  2. Help with spiritual, emotional, educational, and financial needs
  3. Focus on building foundations that last—not just solving today's crisis
  4. Connection to community and ongoing support systems

How to Get Involved

Families in FIT need people who won't disappear after a month. We're looking for volunteers who can commit to walking with a family over time—checking in, encouraging, helping problem-solve, and celebrating wins along the way. You might help a parent practice for a job interview. You might drive a kid to school when the car breaks down.

You might just be the person who texts on a hard day to say you're thinking of them It's not about having all the answers. It's about showing up consistently and proving that someone cares. Become a Family Mentor
